How our pricing works. We do not publish fixed prices, because a fixed price would either overcharge a couple or underdeliver for a group of nine. Every itinerary is quoted individually against your dates, hotel standard and group size, with everything itemised in writing. Send us your travel window and we will come back within 24 hours with a full quotation and no obligation.

D1Arrive BeijingAirport transfer
Met at the airport by your driver-guide, transfer to your hotel, and an easy first evening. If you want to eat straight away, we will point you to a halal restaurant within walking distance.
D2Forbidden City, Tiananmen Square, Temple of HeavenIn town
Into the palace at opening, with your own guide and your tickets reserved in advance. Afternoon at the Temple of Heaven — the triple-tiered Hall of Prayer is the most photographed building in China, and the surrounding park belongs to the neighbourhood until about 09:00.
D3Mutianyu Great Wall≈ 150 km
We leave the city by 07:30 to reach the wall as it opens. Twenty-two watchtowers along a forested ridge, a cable car up and a toboggan down. Lunch at a village restaurant on the way back.
D4Summer Palace and the hutong lanes≈ 40 km
Morning boat across Kunming Lake and a walk along the Long Corridor. Then the old city behind the Drum Tower: courtyard houses, bicycle repairmen, dumpling shops, and lanes that have not changed in a century.
D5Niujie district and departureAirport transfer
A free morning in Beijing's Muslim quarter — the Niujie Mosque has been in use since 996 AD — then your airport transfer. We can extend to Xi'an or Shanghai by high-speed rail on request.

Questions

Frequently asked

Why Mutianyu and not Badaling?
Badaling is the section the coach tours use, which means it is crowded from 10:00 onwards. Mutianyu is the same Ming-era engineering, restored to the same standard, with a fraction of the visitors and a cable car. Unless you specifically want the famous name, Mutianyu is the better day.
How much walking is involved?
The Great Wall day is the hardest: roughly two hours on uneven steps, though the cable car removes most of the climb. The Forbidden City is about 3 km of flat walking. The hutong afternoon is about 2 km. We can shorten any of it.
Can we do this with elderly parents?
Yes, with adjustments. We use the cable car at Mutianyu, keep the Forbidden City to the main halls, and break the afternoons with a teahouse stop. Tell us at planning stage and we build the pace around them.
What does it cost?
We quote each itinerary individually based on your dates, hotel standard and group size. Send us your travel window and party details and you will have a written quote, itemised, within 24 hours.
